Lazy days
After a late night, I got up at around half 11 this morning. We both decided to have a rest day today. With our schedule being so action packed, we thought it was time to take a chill pill. We got up and ready, and headed to reception to ask where we could get our laundry washed. Neither of us planned on getting rinsed out like last time (pun intended). At reception they told us of the cleaner on our floor who would help us.
So we went back up the lift to our floor and eventually found the cleaner. We motioned to her that we’d like help washing out clothes. She took them from us and stuffed them in the washing machine. I guess that’s that then. With our clothes done, we said thanks and left them with her. We were both very grateful to her as she saved us a lot of hassle! Check out my experience in Taiyuan when I had a bad experience getting my laundry done!
I don't know what I ate, but it was good
The pair of us set out for breakfast/lunch. The main road was nearby, so we had a short walk. Neither of us could see any obvious signs of a restaurant, so we just kept walking. Eventually, we found a place on the side of the road that looked okay. We went in, had a look at the photos on the wall and pointed at one, to the man. That’s how food time works for us. Basically a point and click menu. See a photo of food, point, and hope for the best. Luckily, it turned out well for us. After being slightly hesitant to begin with, I soon devoured the rest! The food we had was delicious, but I don’t actually know what it was.
My pens were running out for my journal, so we went next door to a shop. If I use an ink pen (that’s not a biro) then I usually smudge my writing. This is because I’m left handed, and biro’s dry up quicker. I could only find an ink pen, so it’ll have to do! We also got some junk food as per usual to sustain us when real food is unavailable. Afterwards, we headed back to the hostel and to the cleaning lady. She had pegged our washing up for us, so we got a bag and collected it. We made sure to show our appreciation to her.
Chilling
Mat and I just chilled in the room for several hours, doing god knows what to waste time. When it was 7pm, we decided to pause our rest and go out for food again. We didn’t want to venture too far, so we went to a place a couple of buildings down from us. Both of us had a plate of egg fried rice, just by itself. We added a bit of seasoning to it. It was a better meal than I was expecting though to be honest. Plain and simple!
After this brief meal we both headed back to the hostel for a short rest. Shortly after I got back, I called my Indonesian friend. We met online whilst I was in the UK and had become good friends in the months since. She never fails to make me laugh, and we always have a cracking time when we speak to each other. It’s very good to have moments like this when you can just forget everything for a short period and have nothing but a good conversation and an even better laugh! Time flies when you’re having fun, and 3 hours past at the end of it. Needless to say I jumped straight in bed as it was very late.
